GEOMAG: MORE THAN JUST A TOY |
|
 |
| |
|
Geomag
is not just a construction toy, but also a useful tool for learning.
Like the other famous building games, Geomag stimulates the development
of creative capacities, but more than other similar games it has a
unique and specific feature: the power of magnetism. Using Geomag makes
it possible to demonstrate many fascinating phenomena with great
simplicity, finding the answers to various basic rules of nature and
the universe: from how a simple compass works - which so fascinated
even the young Einstein - to the great mysteries of the magnetic field
of the earth.
Geomag makes stimulating and
creative what can often appear boring and incomprehensible: this is the
aspect which makes it unique and different from all other construction
systems. The results achieved are intrinsically related to the magnetic
force of its bars, and the capacity to exploit the universal laws which
control this.
Plus… no noise and no waste of batteries or energy… just the
stimulation of the capacity to reflect, and to bring your own fantasy
and imagination into play.

Where did Geomag's idea come from? The inventor, Claudio Vicentelli, reveals
for the first time all the backgrounds of Geomag concept : the extremely
high level of preliminary study
and preparation behind the two simple components, a sphere and a bar.

Architect Anna Lucia Camerada illustrates the outcomes of an important
survey, performed in a didactic context, aimed at verifying whether, and to what extent, Geomag can be used as a
teaching aid: an instrument which is functional to the teaching of "geometric and architectural drawing, architecture,
interior design and scenic construction" disciplines which are part of the study curriculum of the art institutes.
Her accurate and deep survey demonstrates how Geomag can satisfy all target's needs and
wishes.
